Taylor Uchytil

Taylor Uchytil is a member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe and an artist from Nevada, currently based in New York City. She reimagines the traditions of her Paiute tribe into fashion. Her work is a tribute to her younger cousins, symbolizing resilience, hope, and gratitude.

The beadwork on each hat is inspired by the hood of Taylor's cradleboard. The artist hand-beads each piece with the intention of bringing the wearer a sense of security and comfort, similar to the feeling of a baby in a cradleboard.

Each tag reads "Taught by Lesley Williams" because Taylor credits her aunt for teaching her to weave and bead.
All beads are sourced Outwest Beads, a Paiute-owned business based in Reno, Nevada.
